GECKO on the run: A 2-page, evidence-based summary for healthcare providers. Features a bottom line, genotype and drug response, resources and references. (Updated Nov 2018)

Additional resources:

The Pharmacogenomics Project Group of the Inter-Society Coordinating Committee for Practitioner Education in Genomics has developed peer-reviewed online education for healthcare practitioners to advance pharmacogenomics in clinical practice. The activities can be taken independently either free of charge or for continuing education credit depending upon the learner’s needs. The content is reviewed annually and the series is hosted online by the University of Pittsburgh. [Accessed July 2024]

Clinical Pharmacogenetics Implementation Consortium (CPIC®): provides expert reviewed guidelines for drug-gene pair implementation, standardized terminology, amongst other resources. International consortium of individual volunteers and a small dedicated staff who create, curate, and post freely available, peer-reviewed, evidence-based, updatable, and detailed gene/drug clinical practice guidelines. [Accessed July 2024]

PharmGKB: google-like pharmacogenetic database which allows clinicians, students and researchers to search for pharmacogenetic information on drugs, genes, variants, regulatory resources and implementation resources. PharmGKB is a comprehensive resource that curates knowledge about the impact of genetic variation on drug response for clinicians and researcher. [Accessed July 2024]

Pharmacogenomics at SickKids: An information video about pharmacogenomics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4532ns1MqsI [Accessed July 2024]

Free CME:

Precision Medicine for Your Practice: Exploring Pharmacogenomic Testing (CME). Learn how to determine whether pharmacogenomic testing is appropriate for the patient and practice applying test results to patient management. The American Medical Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. This is a series of short (30 min), online modules covering specific topics in genomics and precision medicine. Participants will learn about the benefits and limitations of pharmacogenomic testing, how to determine whether pharmacogenomic testing is appropriate for the patient and the application of test results to patient management. There are five parts of the module: overview via an animated video; practice cases to facilitate learning-by-doing; "dig deeper" for more in-depth topics; and logistics and additional resources for more detail. Developed by the Jackson Laboratory.
