When choosing private genetic counselling be sure to check for appropriate credentials such as a genetic counsellor that has a Masters-level degree from an accredited genetic counselling program and is Board-Certified by the Canadian Board of Genetic Counselling (CCGC), the American Board of Genetic Counselling (CGC)
